The Trials

This is the second prototype I submitted for SOWN.
It sort of follows I Wish I Were the Moon in both aesthetics and camera interface, but the mechanics are slightly different: instead of moving objects around, you actually duplicate them.
This prototype is a small attempt to play around with duplication, and features three different challenges using it. The solutions are a mix of self-cooperation, timing and re-interpreting a symbol that means different things depending on the context it’s placed on.
I like this one better than I Wish I Were the Moon because the mechanic is more interesting, and the camera makes a little more sense.
The first trial can be solved in many different ways… what was your solution?

Hey, I like this sort-of-puzzle game.
By riq on September 9
I solved it World War 1 style: throwing masses of dragon-fodder at the princess until one of them, perched on top of a mountain of unfortunate men, reached her amidst a shower of charred bodies.
On which note, shouldn’t it be called, ‘Get it on with the Princess’, since you don’t actually release her from the tower?

I had a tower of dudes as well.
I didn’t mind the mechanism for photography in the last one. This one does make more sense I guess though
Will see how else I can do things…

Ah, if you just double click at the bottom of a column the dudes get transported up to the top.
One problem with the copying mechanism, combined with this, is that it’s really easy to create way too many sprites and the game can get really slowed down.

Ah…found another way…

Uf, i ve writed a long comment and i lose it. (No way to write it again).
, using the bird as mounting, and cloning clouds.
I solved the first screen using a man-stairs
But a question of a possible feature that could be nice… Using photos from one screen into other screen… (examle: using the cloud of the first screen in the third screen…)
Nice work!

ah! cloning clouds! I didn’t think of that solution

Awesome, man! This is really getting more and more interesting, I think you go in the right way with this really funny game mechanich.
For the first scene, I cloned a dragon at princess’ height and put the boy to ride the dragon!!!
The second scene looked more hardcore, but was really easy when you realize what you must do.
Continue with this! I want to see more!

I can’t solve the second part

For the first scene, I dropped two guys onto the dragon, which wrapped around and caused them to grab the princess.
I like “…Moon” better, mostly because I felt like it was emotional and symbolic in a way that these games are not.

Spoilers:
In the second level, make two couples and then clone the boy some distance over the girl. While he is falling, clone the girl over the original.

Oh, missed the human tower solution for the first one.
Well, since I like puzzle games I really like this one
Looking forward for more photographic puzzles.
Good luck @ SOWN!!

Why does connecting the two top clouds doesn’t works at the second trial?

Awesome stuff, I actually liked Moon a bit better as it felt a bit more emotional to me. Still this one was a bit more challenging.

I’m stuck on the third trial…

The key to solving the third one is building a tower using dude holding flower supporting dude holding flower.
Cool game. Also, multiple dragons, dudes standing on them, hell yeahs!

Very inspirational.

Where do you get the “dragon fodder” from on level 1? I’ve already finished the game, I was just wondering.
Great little trials, could have been a bit longer or made more though.
